Sky Solus 1P
The Sky Solus is an ultralight, four-season, freestanding shelter specialized for the solo alpine hunter. Built to withstand brutal mountain weather but incredibly nimble for pitching in steep, ultra-tight terrain, the Sky Solus crosses the line between a tent and a bivy to give hunters the perfect shelter for pursuing big game deep into the backcountry.
The Solus combines innovative WebTruss™ construction with a compact footprint (~½ the size of the Skyscraper) and a sleek profile to create a weatherproof fortress that can easily be pitched tight to windbreaks, in bony alpine pockets, and on steep slopes. Despite its minimal footprint, the Solus maximizes usable space to provide ample room inside the tent for gear, sleeping, and sitting up to change layers. The two side vestibules provide additional space to store gear and cook, or they can easily be cinched underneath the fly when space is limited.
Thanks to the WebTruss system, the two tent poles can quickly be deployed without having to fight the wind to connect the body of the tent to the poles. Simply run the two poles through the WebTruss and connect to the corners to raise the tent. When you’re setting up camp in the dark after a long day hunting, the compact footprint drastically reduces the time it takes to find a suitable site to pitch the tent. If weather is on the horizon, the rainfly clips to the tent body in seconds, holds tight to the ground, and includes 16 guy line points that can be secured for impenetrable protection from wind, rain, and snow.
Whether you’re camping on a knife-edge ridge before the final attack or dogging the herd deep into the deadfall, the Sky Solus ensures you will always have a weatherproof refuge in remote and unforgiving country.

For a one man tent this has tons of room another home run from Stone Glaicer!!!!
I can post in depth review later if you like. Spent multiple nights on Adak. Tent did well in about 30 mph winds, hail and freezing rain. My biggest complaint is lack of an “alcove/gear locker” at the entrance. It can get sporty when weather is bad and your trying to get in or out AND keep the interior dry. Maybe an accessory that can be attached at the entrance?
Great Tent, But How About 2 Mods?
Spent my first night on a Scottish mountain in typical windy wet conditions to try out the Solus. It works really well, with tons of space for one and the big side vestibules swallowed my excess gear. Stable in wind, great condensation control which is a first in an assault tent. Love the plethora of pockets and storage options for livability. The inner side walls billowed a bit in gusts but I found a hack: if you thread the port hole toggle thru the ring on the inside of the fly then back into the inner tent it pulls the porthole fabric out towards the fly and increases the volume of the inner tent. Two things I'd change. Change the storage portholes to rainbow zip openings, simpler and easier to access your gear and/or cook. On the rear vent remove the upper half solid semi circle. It encourages rain to run off into the sleeve part and pool. The weight of water will eventually force it to dribble down the inner tent unless you have the pull cord cinched nearly closed. Change it to a simple tubular sleeve that can sit outside the tent or be pulled in and cinched closed. See Rab designs. Other than that loved the weight/stability/space ratio. A go to option for this winter and beyond!
